Registered Assistant/Office Manager
I have been working in financial services since graduating from UW-Milwaukee in 2013, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Like many others after college, I was unsure where I wanted my career to go, so with some hesitation I began working for my mom, Jodie Lane. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked, “So what’s it like working for your mom?” I was very thankful for the job at the time, but I thought it was a temporary, in-between kind of a deal.
I soon discovered that my job wasn’t what I thought it would be—working for mom, answering phones, and boring financial stuff. I found that my job is to listen to people, to understand what they need, and to know where to find answers. The endless opportunities to help and serve others every day are what got me hooked. I’ve discovered how passionate I am about sharing my knowledge and educating others, as well as finding solutions that work for each individual and their family. It didn’t take long before I fell in love with the direction my professional career has taken and found that Jodie and I make an amazing mother/daughter team!
2023 has been an exciting year! As of July, I have 10 years of experience working in financial services. I’m also very happy to announce that earlier this year I passed the Series 65 exam and am now affiliated with J.W. Cole Advisors as a Licensed Assistant. I also hold an active life insurance license in the state of Wisconsin. My goal for the future is to learn as much as I possibly can about this ever-changing industry so I can provide our clients with the top-tier service they deserve. I’m incredibly fortunate to have Jodie as my mentor, and look forward to moving into the Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) role in the near future.
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and trying new foods, gardening, kayaking, camping, and chasing around my school-aged son, Jack and our dog, Cali.
